With harmonious melodies and infectious lyrics, Megan Fogarty has always had something to say with her music - now, more than ever, people are listening.
With her smart, refreshingly direct songwriting style, Megan Fogarty's skilled and soulful vocals deliver powerful music. From earthy ballads to soaring pop, her soulful sensibility and knack for lyrics keep listeners humming along, long after the song has ended. A Native New Yorker, Megan has a dedicated following as both a performer and a songwriter.
Megan released her debut CD, Getting On, to a packed house at NYC's legendary club, The Bitter End. Shortly after, she was AOL Music's featured Artist of the Month along side Lisa Loeb, and was honored to be chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall in a benefit for The American Red Cross. Megan and her latest recording, "Like Water," were heard along with contributions from fellow singer/songwriters Phoebe Snow and Beth Neilson Chapman in the documentary, "Voices of Inspiration," which aired on FOX and the UPN network. "Like Water" was also featured in Melissa Berman's independent film, The Seaside Trilogy, currently playing at American and Foreign film festivals. Megan's music was included in Streetlight Productions, "City Scapes" at The Producers Club in NYC. Songs from her release "Getting On" and other new work were incorporated into the piece. The show closed with a rendition of Megan's "Let it Rain," sung by 28 cast members.
In addition to developing her own music, Megan is an accomplished New York City vocal instructor/coach. Across more than a decade of instruction, her students have performed in National, European, and Broadway companies of Chicago, Saturday Night Fever, West Side Story, We Will Rock You, On Your Toes, A Chorus Line, Contact, Cinderella, Movin' Out, Carousel, and The Radio City Rockettes. Her students also include several independent recording artists, and Megan has collaborated on several successful projects. Her work with singer/songwriter Amysue Smith placed them as recent finalists in the Gospel Music Awards Songwriters Seminar. Amy performed the songs for the Seminar, and with David Foster during a Ronald McDonald Foundation benefit. Megan's collaborations can also be heard on singer/songwriter Brad Jobe's new self titled release.
Megan has partnered on numerous songwriting and production projects with her husband, accomplished Producer/Keyboardist Michael Mancini. Mancini, who produced Megan's Getting On, has played with such artists as Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton, BB King, Bruce Springsteen and Macy Gray.
